David and Ruby at the park

I love to take my kids to the park and today was a wonderful day! The weather was perfect and my little uns had a blast.

We went to Colonial Oaks Park where they have a great jungle gym and best of all it's shaded.

Here is a little more info on the park direct from the county site:

Colonial Oaks Park
5300 Colonial Oaks Blvd., Sarasota
Colonial Oaks Park is a many faceted 23 acre park, a blend of impressive natural features and efficient building structures. The property is divided by Phillippi Creek which offers a beautiful area to reflect on life as the sun dapples through the ancient oak trees, while the ponds afford a tranquil respite. Large grassy fields adjacent to the picnic shelters accompany the magnificent oak trees shading the playground area, inviting patrons to enjoy picnics, sports and games with family and friends. The south side of the park is a great place to walk and enjoy open space and a Phillippi Creek vista. Three indoor rooms and a half court gymnasium allow for classes and recreation programs. Ongoing programming includes dance classes, table tennis, exercise classes, tennis classes and several infant and pre-school activities.

Check it out sometime!

Best to all...

The Island is located at the southern entrance to Tampa Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. We share the island with our sister cities of Holmes Beach and Anna Maria City.
